Debbie Safeblade
Preschool Red Apple Teacher
For more than thirteen years, I have worked with children and their families to support and celebrate discoveries, challenges, and relationships during the early years of life. I have been blessed to spend nine of those years as a teacher at Resurrection Preschool. The supportive environment of the Resurrection community feels like home. It is such a privilege to be there as children embark on their school adventures.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from Belmont Abbey College, and I have done graduate coursework at Purdue University in Speech-Language Pathology with an emphasis in communication impairments in the preschool setting. I continued my studies in Early Childhood Education by taking graduate classes at the Erikson Institute and UIC.
I live in the West Town neighborhood with my husband, Dave, and our spunky kitty, Angel. I love literature, theater, modern dance, and yoga; I also have a deep interest in Sign Language. My ideal vacation is to trek to Spring Green, Wisconsin for camping and Shakespeare outdoors.
